We want to build the most beautiful and authentic South America ever. That’s why we travelled to South America about a year ago to meet the Martinez family, a wonderful model building family. Together, we discussed whether it’ll be possible to do a wonderful project together. And we decided to do it. We planned it and immediately started building. And now, a year later, we hope to finish on time. For us, it’s to be working with the best. I have to say thank you. 6 months after having met in America, we invited them to come here to get to know each other and they got to see the Wunderland. We asked them to build a little test area. Its crazy, many years watching the model in the TV and in Youtube and then being there and being under the model is incredible It was different. And that difference fascinated us. We really wanted to see how it looks when it’s combined. That would be unique. your face looked scared all the time My face didn’t look scared, you couldn’t live. People asked me: what happened with Peter is he nervous? We’re testing the argentinian anti fire paint. I’m Felix. I’m currently working on connecting all the houses with stairs and ramps, there are also little courtyards. That’s what I try to do. I plastered a little bit, but I don’t know how this whole scenary will look like. It’s quite difficult for me. You know, we… After having worked together for 1,5 years, you can laugh about certain things. But in the beginning, having two crazy groups coming together wasn’t that easy. Both achieve the best and most beautiful quality, but are working on their own ways, like they always did. That doesn’t have an exact measure, like I know that I can directly plaster until here. Yeah, exactly. Ok shit. In Germany, we usually build the houses first and the landsacpe around them. Here, it’s diferent. The landscape comes first and the houses are later put in there. That’s quite difficult, you have to think a lot and always need to be one step ahead. I think so too. What will you do? More paint? More paint! Working together with Virginia is lots of fun. There’s that difference that she hardly speaks any English. But she understands much and I don’t speak Spanish. That’s lots of fun, we’ve already had some funny misunderstandings. And she’s way better with colours than I am. What do you think about the colour? It could be more white. how do you say polder…dust? Dust? Like powder? Yes. So some pigments or something? Ok? Yes! At the same time I need to work and solve sceneries, I like to do that but I spend all day from one courner to the other, Peter, Peter, Peter… in this moment we are full with Santa Theresa we need to start right now with the greening and we need to have, at le ast the base of all houses It usually doesn’t take much time, until our Wunderlandians and the Argentinians work together and forget that they’re from different parts of the world. And to me, Peter Martinez is an absolute genius. He has such a feeling for the whole model. And most important: Everyone loves him so much after a very short time. The forest is very unique, a big character in the whole model. It’s something really important. We need to decide which kind of trees we want to model, it’s a process. We’ve already put 2000 trees in that relatively small area. You might get a feeling of how many trees we will still need. The difficulty is that there are trees even in the city. They are all build in a special way so they fit in the streets and alleys. Another difficulty is that we want to create a far-away-perspective. The problem is that we can walk behind that part. That means, the tree has to get higher and grow. From this corner, you can take a look into the forest, about 20cm, that is really cool. I’m back from Buenos Aires. What I saw there was wonderful. Rio de Janeiro is growing and those are only 46 of 400 squre metres we want to build within the next years. We brought you some beautiful pictures that we will now sort und cut. And soon, there will be a wonderful third episode.
