WERE TALKING ABOUT THE MARS AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT. TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS, AND THOSE RENOVATIONS ARE STILL BEING FINISHED. HERE’S MORE ON THAT STORY FROM AMY MARCINKIEWICZ. Reporter: THERE IS A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION GOING ON ALL THIS WAS HAPPENING AFTER HOURS. THE LIGHT FIXTURES ARE UP , THEY’RE STILL WORKING. Reporter: THE MIDDLE SCHOOL STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION THE SUPERINTENDENT KNOWS THE PARENTS ARE CONCERNED SO HE INVITED CHANNEL 11 NEWS IN FOR A WALK-THROUGH. THERE ARE THINGS THAT ARE VISIBLE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. THE KIDS DON’T TO SAY. IT’S NOT INTERFERING WITH THEIR INSTRUCTION. Reporter: CONCRETE FLOORS WAITING FOR TILE, CEILING PANELS WAITING TO BE INSTALLED BUT THE SUPERINTENDENT SAID WE WOULDN’T HAVE STARTED SCHOOL IF IT WASN’T SAFE. IT SAFE, WARM , AND DRY AND READY TO GO. Reporter: THE $50 MILLION RENOVATION STARTED THE MINUTE THAT SCHOOL WAS OUT IN JUNE AND FINISHES IN DECEMBER. THERE’S PLENTY OF WORK BEING DONE BEHIND THE SCENES, THIS AREA IS BLOCKED OFF TO STUDENTS AND STAFF AS CREWS CONTINUE TO PUT CLASSROOMS TOGETHER.
