Yeah, we’re on schedule,
doing the finishing work. Everything is going along well. This is the new entry plaza,
because the new entrance to the building
is from the south, where the entrances used
to be on the east and west. Now we’ll go through
the new glass pavilion. This is the new entry,
it’s two-story space, as you can see. The red wall is going to
be the new donor wall. If you’ll follow me. It’ll be a multi-purpose
space that could be set up for students to
lounge in or study in. It’s more of a smaller
space than upstairs. The woodworking is phenomenal. They spend a lot of time,
very fine craftsman, but we’re also being told that
the carpenters really enjoy working here, because they got
to see how a building was put together in the late 1800s. This is the large open
presentation space. All the woodwork and all the
trusses are all original. All the wood up in the
ceiling is all original. Well, from where we started,
this was an old building that had been shut down for 15 years
and had a lot of wear and tear on it. And everything was removed,
and the architects did a magnificent job, as
did the contractors, to bring it up to a facility
that’s very contemporary with functions, but still maintains
the historical character.
